All Gears Luffy Has Undergone Currently
This is the base form 👆
1. Gear 2
Monkey D. Luffy first attained Gear Second during the Water 7 and Enies Lobby arcs unveiled this powerful ability for the first time during his battle against Blueno, one of the government agents of CP9, in Chapter 387 (Episode 272 in the anime). Gear Second enhances Luffy's strength, speed, and overall combat abilities by pumping his blood at an accelerated rate, making his body superheated and significantly increasing his power. This ability is one of Luffy's trademark techniques and plays a crucial role in many of his battles throughout the series.
2. Gear 3
Gear Third involves Luffy inflating his bones, particularly his arm or leg, by blowing air into them using his own breath. This inflates the selected body part to a gigantic size, greatly increasing its size and power. Once the body part is inflated, Luffy delivers powerful and devastating attacks, such as Giant Pistol (a massive punch) or Giant Axe (a colossal kick).
However, there are some significant drawbacks to using Gear Third. When Luffy inflates his body part, he becomes significantly larger and heavier, which can slow him down and make him an easier target. Additionally, after using this technique, he experiences temporary shrinkage, becoming small and weak for a brief period.
Gear Third is one of Luffy's most powerful techniques, and he typically reserves it for formidable opponents or when he needs a massive boost in strength. It's an essential part of his arsenal and showcases the creativity and versatility of his Devil Fruit power, the Gomu Gomu no Mi.
SIDE EFFECTS: when first using gear three ,due to the enlargement of his body the side effects where that his body shrunk and his power reduced drastically. But as time passed luffy gained even more mastery over gear three hence no longer having this side effect.
3. Gear 4 🔎
Gear 4 has three forms
Bounce Man
Tank Man
Snake Man
Bounce Man
Gear Fourth is another advanced and formidable technique used by Monkey D. Luffy in the "One Piece" series. Luffy first unveils this powerful transformation during his battle with Donquixote Doflamingo on Dressrosa.
In Gear Fourth, Luffy inflates his muscles and coats them with Haki (a form of spiritual energy that enhances his attacks and defensive abilities) to an extreme degree. This transformation results in a significant change in Luffy's appearance. He gains a massive increase in size, making him appear much larger and more muscular, and his body becomes surrounded by a thin layer of Haki, giving him enhanced protection and offensive power.
Tank Man
Tank Man is a specific variation of Luffy's Gear Fourth transformation, introduced during the Whole Cake Island arc in the "One Piece" series. This transformation is also known as "Tank Man: Full Version." Luffy first utilises this form during his battle against Charlotte Cracker, one of Big Mom's sweet commanders.
In Tank Man, Luffy inflates his body to an enormous size, much like his regular Gear Fourth transformation. However, the key difference with Tank Man is that he inflates his body to an even greater extent, turning him into a massive, rotund figure that resembles a sumo wrestler. This increase in size provides several unique advantages and abilities.
SNAKE MAN
Luffy's "Snake Man" is one of the advanced forms within his Gear Fourth transformation, and it was first introduced during his battle against Charlotte Katakuri in the "One Piece" series, specifically in the Whole Cake Island arc. This form is characterised by its exceptional agility, speed, and unpredictability.
In Snake Man, Luffy takes on a more streamlined and elongated appearance, resembling a snake. His body becomes leaner and more flexible, emphasising agility and rapid movements over sheer brute force. Snake Man is designed to exploit the weaknesses of his opponent and land precise, high-speed attacksDuring his battle with Katakuri, Luffy initially struggled to match the strength and Observation Haki of his formidable opponent. However, by activating Snake Man, Luffy gained a significant advantage by relying on his newfound speed and unpredictability to turn the tide of the battle in his favour.
Snake Man exemplifies Luffy's adaptability and resourcefulness in combat, as he tailors his Gear Fourth transformations to meet the specific challenges presented by his adversaries
4. Gear 5
This is Luffy's final state and most powerful form
"Gear Five" transformation in the "One Piece" series. The highest-level transformation that had been introduced was "Gear Fourth," which included variations like "Boundman," "Tank Man," and "Snake Man."
If there have been any new developments or information about a "Gear Five" in the "One Piece" series since my last update, I recommend consulting the latest chapters, episodes, or official sources for the most up-to-date information. The series is ongoing, and Eiichiro Oda, the creator of "One Piece," often introduces new abilities and transformations for the main characters.
Gear 5 is the result of awakening the Gomu Gomu Nomi
This gives the users’ already rubbery body more freedom and its power is only limited to the users imagination. It’s demonstrated when Luffy becomes a giant and when he grabs lightning in the fight of Onigishima.
This power is also known as the most ridiculous power in the world
